About Me
My Rural Roots
Hi there, I’m Ella! My journey into photography began on a cattle farm in rural Missouri. Growing up, I found endless joy in capturing the simple beauty of everyday life. I adored my pet baby cows, just like our outdoor cats and my favorite doggo, Mia. My cell phone camera became a way to hold on to these precious moments, and I loved taking pictures of the animals and the scenic landscapes around me.
Finding My Path
In college, I started down the path of becoming an art teacher, but later found my true calling was honing my craft of photography, thanks to the wonderful inspiration of my favorite professor. She was not only an accomplished photographer and graphic designer, but also a true mentor who genuinely cared about our passions and success.
Igniting My Passion
One of the pivotal moments that sealed the deal for me was being given the opportunity to photograph for the Cypress Wedding Edition magazine, where I had the pleasure of capturing beautiful bridal couples and charming venues. Seeing my work printed a few weeks later was all I needed to convince me I was right where I should be.
Discovering My Life Partner
Halfway through College, I was blessed to meet the man I am proud to call my husband. Our memorable walks through campus turned into exciting trips through the mountains, then lead to us adopting our current fur baby, Ariel. After graduation, we moved back home to Missouri where we were married, and I kicked off my career in photography!
Working Experience
My professional journey has included various roles, from school portraits, to weddings, to newborn photography. These experiences have helped me hone my craft working with a variety of posing and composition techniques, environments, and lighting scenarios. I have shot everywhere from gymnasiums to beautiful fields and churches, to tiny hospital rooms, and everything in between. I have even been inside a barn or two!
My Approach to Photography
I strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for every shoot, ensuring that your personalities shine through. My flexibility and adaptability to my clients' preferences are key to making each session unique and enjoyable. My editing style focuses on bright, true-to-life colors, with even lighting and minimal exaggerated contrasts. I prefer natural, authentic tones over overly vibrant or heavily filtered looks, aiming to present each moment as beautifully and realistically as possible.
What I love most about my work is seeing your smiling faces when you get to see your precious moments captured forever. There’s nothing like bringing tears of joy to new parents or hearing the heartfelt praise from newlyweds as they relive their special day again. It’s all about making memories truly unforgettable!
